Carrickfergus International Ladies Football Festival Logo Carrickfergus Ladies Football Festival 2008 Champions!!!

Strikers have had a successful history in this competition, starting off as semi-finalists in 2003, progressing to Plate Winners in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Last years competition saw Newtownabbey Strikers continue to show their dominance beating rivals Glentoran Belfast United and National League team Larne Ladies to secure a place against Spanish team Alavesa which led to their place in the Championship Final against Portuguese team Boavista. Monday 14th April 2008 - Friendly vs Northern Ireland Senior Women - Result 0-0

Newtownabbey Strikers played an entertaining game against the Senior Women at the Queens University pitches. Strikers were without regulars Julie Nelson, Sara Booth and Helen McKenna as they were playing for the International team but they gave the International squad a difficult game. A fantastic team performance for a very useful pre-season friendly.
